After meeting the whale sharks in Oslob, Cebu, we headed to Pescador Island in Moalboal, Cebu. Pescador Island is an island located in the Tañon Strait, a few kilometers from the western coast of the island of Cebu. The island derives its name from the Philippines’ Spanish colonial heritage and the abundance of fish living on the surrounding coral reef, and the many fishermen that fish them (“Pescador” translates from Spanish to “fisherman”). The rich marine life also attracts recreational divers from the many dive operations in nearby Panagsama.
From Oslob, ride a tricycle back to the bus terminal in Brgy. Tam-awan. Ask the conductor what bus to ride and drop you off to Moalboal Tourist Center. The fare is around 70.00pesos ($1.50)
- Tourism Fee of 100pesos ($2.00).
- Boat Rent for 2000pesos ($40.00) that is good for 5-7 pax.
What to expect at Pescador Island?
1. Coral Viewing. The boatmen/tour guide let us do whatever we wanted. It was just us in that area so we enjoyed the scenery and the peaceful moment of Pescador Island. It was fun seeing the colorful fishes and corals but It’s more fun in Sardine Run.
4. Dolphin Watch. You can actually see dolphin but I think it’s only available in the morning.
