A Hidden Paradise, Badoc Island

Badoc Island is an uninhabited island located about 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) off the shore of Barangay Pagsanahan in Badoc, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. It is an alternative beach to other beaches around Ilocos.

How to get there?

Ride a bus bound to Laoag, Ilocos Norte. Tell the conductor to drop you off in Badoc, Ilocos Norte. (This is the first town of Ilocos Norte.) Fare: 800pesos - 1000pesos. ($18 - $20)
Ride a tricycle going to La Vigen Milagrosa Chapel
Rent a boat going to Badoc Island. The boat is good for 6pax including the boatman. Fare: 1200pesos ($22) for the whole boat.

Upon arriving La Vigen Milagrosa Chapel, there's a registration and will ask 20pesos each for the environmental fee. You can also ask them who and where to rent a boat or fin Uncle Luis for boat rental.

The boat is good for 6pax including the boatman. Expect it to be small and water can easily slush inside the boat. You have to be careful with your gadgets and belongings, it can be soaked in the water. Make sure to bring a waterproof bag or a plastic. The boat ride will take around 15-20 minutes.

The boatman will wait for you or tell them if they'll just go back to fetch you if you are planning to camp on the island.

As soon as we arrived, we were amazed by the crystal clear tri-color blue water and the white sand. the boatman said that there is a cottage where you can stay and have a shed and leave your things. but it was devastated by the past typhoons.

You can have the Island all by yourself because It's not that known destination. It's was so peaceful and calm.

You can actually go around the island for another 300 pesos.

Just by standing by the shore you can actually see some rocks and shell formation in the distant.

There is also hiking activity.

You have to take note that there are no amenities like restroom or store on the island, if you're planning to have a picnic then you have to bring your own food or buy in the store near La Virhen Milagrosa Chapel. For us, we planned to have our lunch in Logo Beach just beside La Virhen Milagrosa.
