Exploring Aurora Province on Two Wheels: A Thrilling Motorcycle Adventure Through Nature's Wonders
By nickahtolentino - June 17, 2023
When a traveler and a rider meet, they enjoy different aspects of the journey. The traveler is amazed by the beauty of nature, while the rider is excited by the thrill of speed.
We recently completed an almost 1,000-kilometer journey from San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte to Sabang, Baler (and vice-versa)—another item to cross off my bucket list. I've always wanted to ride a motorcycle for a long distance. It feels like a whole new world outside of your comfort zone, where you can feel the wind on your face and see the vast expanse of nature. Riding with my love from Ilocos to Baler made it even better.
The journey took us through winding roads, lush forests, and breathtaking coastal views. The thrill of riding a motorcycle added a unique element to the experience, making it even more memorable. As we navigated the twists and turns of the road, we marveled at the stunning landscapes and the sense of freedom that comes with exploring new places on two wheels.
As we reached our destination in Sabang, Baler, we were greeted by the serene beauty of the Aurora Province. The pristine beaches, vibrant local culture, and breathtaking natural wonders offered a perfect balance between relaxation and adventure. We spent our days exploring hidden gems, surfing the waves, and immersing ourselves in the rich history and traditions of the region.
Looking back on our epic motorcycle journey, we can't help but feel grateful for the unforgettable memories and experiences we shared. As a traveler and a rider, we discovered that the beauty of nature and the thrill of speed can come together to create a truly magical adventure. And as we continue to explore the world on two wheels, we look forward to many more journeys that will take us beyond our comfort zones and into the heart of the incredible landscapes and cultures that await us.

Ampere Beach, located in Dipaculao, Aurora, is a hidden gem that offers a stunning and serene coastal escape for visitors. Known for its picturesque rocky shoreline and powerful waves, this secluded beach is perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat away from the more crowded tourist spots.
The beach is surrounded by lush vegetation and towering cliffs, creating a dramatic and breathtaking landscape. The unique rock formations and crashing waves make for an ideal setting for photography enthusiasts, while the cool breeze and calming sound of the waves provide a relaxing atmosphere for those looking to unwind.
Dinadiawan Beach, located in Dipaculao, Aurora, is a serene and idyllic destination known for its beautiful white sand beach that stretches for 3 kilometers. This beach is perfect for those looking to escape the city's stress and enjoy a peaceful vibe.
Visitors can relax on the beach, soak up the sun, enjoy a snack or a cold drink, read a book, and wade in the waters. The laid-back atmosphere of Dinadiawan Beach is truly captivating, making it an ideal spot for a rejuvenating getaway.
While resting in Dinadiawan, we decided to visit Bulo Island in Ditawini, Aurora Province. This small, picturesque island is ideal for those seeking to explore more of the region's natural beauty and experience a tranquil, off-the-beaten-path adventure.
To reach Bulo Island, we arranged for a local boat (banca) to take us on the short journey from the coast of Ditawini. The boat ride offered stunning beachcombing.
Upon arriving at Bulo Island, we were greeted by pristine white sand beaches, swaying palm trees, and turquoise waters that seemed to stretch endlessly. The island's secluded location made it feel like our own private paradise, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and beachcombing
The unpredictable weather of Aurora Province can often catch visitors off guard. As we made our way back to our lodgings from the scenic Dinadiawan, we found ourselves in the midst of heavy rain.
On our last day, we ventured to the hidden gem of Bazal Falls in Maria Aurora, a spot known mostly to the locals.
Bazal Falls is a hidden gem located in the barangay of Bazal in Maria Aurora, Aurora Province. It is part of a chain of mountain ranges and can be found 17-20 kilometers away from the famous town of Baler.
The water at Bazal Falls was refreshingly cold. This hidden paradise provided the perfect setting for us to spend an unforgettable day immersed in nature's beauty.
We didn't explore the popular spots around Baler, Aurora, as the area was jam-packed during Holy Week. However, we are eager to return and experience the wonders of Ermita Hill, Cemento Beach, Diguisit Beach, Dicasalarin Cove, Mother Falls, and the Millennium Tree on our next trip.
